Company history
Established in February 2023 the business started as a partnership between two private companies, Xelop Animal Health and Production Private Limited and Opengates Private Limited, combining the animal health expertise of the former and in-depth knowledge and experience of the latter in retail operations. The business has been operating from its prime site on 13th Avenue between J Moyo and J M N Nkomo Streets, Bulawayo, ever since. It currently conducts outreach programs covering the western region of Zimbabwe and harbors aim of expanding to serve the country and beyond. It was registered as a private limited liability company on 26 February 2026, simultaneously changing it name from Opengates and Xelop AgroCentre to Opex AgroCentre Private Limited.
